Introducing Functional Nutrition Therapy

If you’ve seen me for acupuncture in the past couple of years, or followed me for a while on social media, you will know that I’ve been a busy little bee. In March, I completed the theory part of my course and was awarded a Graduate Diploma in Integrative Functional Nutrition with Distinction and in June, I completed the Clinical Practice module. So, I am now a fully qualified in Functional Nutrition and have been introducing it to some of my clients.

I’m really thrilled to be able to add this to complement my existing practice. Both acupuncture & functional nutritional therapy aim to get to the root of the problem as well as treating symptoms. They work well together and separately. Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine, sterile needles into the skin and can be used for a variety of conditions and symptoms. It has been shown to reduce pain, inflammation, balance hormones, improve blood flow and reduce stress. Functional nutritional therapy is a science based, personalised approach to developing specific dietary and lifestyle recommendations based on your unique history and genetics.

The areas I am most interested in working with are women’s health conditions, fertility support, immune disorders and digestive problems. Adding nutrition to my practice both helps me to improve the service I can offer along side acupuncture and allows me to offer Functional Nutrition as a therapy on its own. The added beauty of Functional Nutrition is you don’t have to travel to see me as we can do it by video call. If you’d like to find our more about what I do and where I work, have a look around my websit
